Chennai Transformation Network (CTN) is an interdenominational movement of churches, ministries, and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) working together with a common vision to transform Chennai.
The CTN is compiling a directory of Christian initiatives in Chennai that have a focus on urban poverty and injustice. This would become a ready reckoner of the work that is being done by Christians in Chennai with regard to urban poverty and injustice. It would also be a growing database and directory on transformational initiatives and capacities that are operational in Chennai. Its primary content will be a profile of each Church / Ministry / NGO that the CTN is working with or would like to work with as part of this network. This profile will have :
- Contact information
- A brief historical transect of the organization
- Program content of the organization
- Financial resources of the organization
- Core capacities and strengths
- Human Resources of the organization and
- Organizational status
The directory will have photographs of team members, leadership, target group and area related photographs. It will record best practices and diverse case studies of transformation that have happened in the city of Chennai. It will have needed demographic analysis and details of various people groups and their socio-economic and spiritual situation from a transformational perspective including initiatives and ventures that involve these groups.
This project will help touch base with the various Christian initiatives in Chennai that have a focus on urban poverty and injustice and serve as a reference point towards the initiation of needed synergy in transformational work. It will further help document the various capacity needs and gaps that are felt and seen in the organizations that CTN is associated with.
During this process CTN will be able to connect like-minded initiatives in various spheres and activities and draw from the pool of resources for the benefit of CTN member communities. It is hoped that in time, CTN will be able to build a Resource Center to provide training and technical assistance for our members.
The information gathered for the Directory will build on CTN’s existing network of ‘justice ventures’ and help to identify work that most Churches and Christian NGOs are doing in the City. Once the Network grows there would be the sharing of ‘best practices’ that could encourage and improve on the quality of work or replicated for greater effectiveness.
It will also help CTN and JVI identify potential areas for providing assistance to groups through the Justice Resource Center. Finally, it serves as a way for to introduce these groups to potential funding agencies, if required.
