Concentration of churches are in the North, South and Central Part of the City. Most of the concentration is in the central part which extends North from Kilpauk towards Red Hills and also towards Thiruvottiyur. This part has 650 (34%) churches.
There were 32 churches at the beginning of the 20th century to now more than 2000. The church has grown by 650 times.
About 1174 churches have less than 200 members. That is 84% of the total churches reported. Out of these 1174 churches, 846 churches are with less than 100 members which is 60% of all churches reported. About 416 churches are with less than 50 members. That is 32% of all the churches reported.
